The Extravagant Homes of American Archbishops

Pope Frances doesn’t live where past popes have resided: the Vatican’s Apostolic Palace, an extremeley lavish residence filled with ornate furniture and priceless works of art. Instead, Pope Francis lives in a small suite in the Vatican guesthouse, a view into his simple living arrangements is pictured above. He has denounced Church leaders who living in mansions worth millions and drive expensive cars saying, “How I would like a Church which is poor and for the poor.”

However, there are some American archibishops who didn’t seem to get the message – in fact 10 out of 34 archbishops living stateside live in homes worth more than $1 million:
